We get the pleasure of working at so many different venues. Each one is so unique and they all have different strengths. But, as much as we aren't supposed to, we have definitely developed favourites over the years and we have gathered them here for those of you that might just be starting to look for your perfect venue. 1. Swancar Farm Country House A gorgeous, modern converted barn which appears to be in the middle of nowhere, and yet is still so close to the centre of Nottingham. Swancar's staff are always so organised and helpful and our deliveries always go so smoothly. The venue can be customised to all personal styles, and doesn't need a lot of decoration to make it look beautiful.
2. Hazel Gap Barn
Hazel Gap is the definition of rustic elegance. The whole venue has an amazing, natural pine smell as you enter and we love that it has both the exposed brick ceremony room with amazing fireplace as well as going through to a light, bright wooden barn for your reception to take place. The courtyard also boasts fire-pits for your guests to enjoy in the evening with some marshmallows.
3. The Folly @ Farmhouse at Mackworth
The Folly is a hidden gem in amazing rural surroundings. Our first experience of this venue was for Lauren and James' Vintage inspired wedding back in July 2018 (take a look here to see their wedding in action https://whimsicalwonderlandweddings.com/folly-farmhouse-mackworth-wedding/) and we loved it the moment we drove into the car park. The venue is hidden away from any roads, overlooking farmers fields and can be totally customised to the couples personal style.
4. The Carriage Hall at Plumtree
Carriage Hall is the perfect combination of a traditional wedding venue with an unrefined feel - with exposed brick and wood - but still a polished feel around the rest of the decor. Set in lovely grounds, its perfect for a spring/summer wedding to let your guests enjoy the outside space.
5. Any Tipi
I bloody love a tipi wedding - wherever they are! Whether it's at Inkersall Grange Farm or on family land - tipi weddings always look gorgeous and showstopping. Our first tipi wedding was for Rhianne and Nick at Papplewick Pumping Station and it opened us up the world of tipi weddings. The tipi's are decoration in themselves, and you don't need to spend too much time and money on decorating them.
This list is, of course, non-exhaustive. There are so many amazing venues out there and we love them all. Let us know what venues you love!
